More About Urban Kitchens
Mission Statement
We design and build kitchens with attention to detail that reflect the homeowner’s lifestyle and personality with in an established budget and timely manner. Urban Kitchens is a full service design/build kitchen company. Begun in 1999 as “Vintage Kitchens,” we changed our name in 2009 to better reflect the work we do and the projects we intend to do in the future. Our philosophy has never changed. We design kitchens to reflect the personality of the owner and continue the intent of the architecture of the home.
Jo Meacham
designer and owner
Jo has a masters in architecture and historic preservation from the University of Oklahoma. After a career in historic preservation and planning. Starting with kitchens in Oklahoma City’s historic districts seemed a natural and many of “Vintage Kitchens” projects can be found in Heritage Hills, Mesta Park, Edgemere Park, Crown Heights and the Linwood neighborhood. Over the past 12 years her kitchens have found homes in Edmond, Norman, El Reno, Shawnee, Pauls Valley, Clinton and many other cities throughout the state. Recent projects include the Seiber Apartments in Midtown, The Hill at Bricktown, and the Brownstones at Maywood Park near Bricktown. Jo’s background in architecture and historic preservation provide her with tools and the ability to create kitchens for all styles of homes, old or new. Her latest favorite style is Mid Century Modern.
Michael Cobb
construction manager
Michael graduated from Southwestern University with a degree in art and continues to use his skills and training to construct works of kitchen art. Attention to detail is the reasons owner’s are pleased with the kitchens Michael supervises. Urban Kitchens relies on Michael to discover potential pitfalls – before problems arise. Michael provides on-site supervision to all workers and subcontractors. He also works with owners to resolve any problems that occur during the project.
His background includes working as a master carpenter in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Aspen, Colorado for the past 25 years.
