The Kitchen Design Process

I. Dream On

Visit our showroom. Tell us about your project. Ask us to come to your home.

The Process Begins…

Our showroom is designed to help you get to know the type of products that are available for your kitchen. Bring your ideas. Show us your pictures. Let us talk to you about cabinets – inside and out. The difference between maple and mahogany. Green products. Organizers. The latest styles and trends. Ask us about what it cost to remodel kitchens.

Make an appointment. We will come to your home and take detailed measurements. This appointment takes about an hour. A second appointment will be made within one week. Then, we will be ready to meet with you in our showroom with conceptual designs and a realistic budget.

Go home and think about it. Are some changes required? Are you ready to start? With a reasonable retainer we will complete your design and finalize the budget.

II. Let’s Get Real

Let’s finalize the plan and the budget. Before a contract is signed, we prefer for most design decisions to be made.

Cabinets Choose from a wide variety of cabinet lines - See our list of products
Countertops Granite, limestone, marble, solid surface, bamboo, and others
Backsplash Tile, stone or glass
Hardware Traditional, Transitional, Contemporary
Flooring Wood, tile, stone
Electrical Changes, additions and fixtures
Plumbing Changes, additions and fixtures
Appliances We assist in the selection of appliances and help you find the very best – quality and price
Wall Treatment Paint, wallpaper, faux treatments
Remodel Remove or add walls, windows and doors
Additions Extend rooms, add rooms

We can provide many of the products necessary to complete your kitchen remodel, and we work with plumbing, tile, hardware, and appliance showrooms in the OKC area to make sure every brand and product is available to you.

If selections are not made prior to the contract, you will have an allowance that will accommodate the ideas discussed during the design phase. We encourage as many design decisions as possible to be made prior to the contract signing. This insures a fixed price bid.

III. The Work Begins

The Project Begins...

  • We help you establish a temporary kitchen
  • We install materials to keep the rest of your house as clean as possible – coverings for doors and door openings, floor coverings, etc.
  • An on-site project book is provided to you, including phone numbers for our staff and 24/7 emergency numbers.

During the Project…

  • We guarantee friendly and professional workers and subcontractors
  • We guarantee that our workers and subcontractors will provide daily clean up
  • We will email you daily with updates and answers to your questions
  • We will respond to your calls and emails in a timely manner. Our showroom is open with regular hours. You will know where to find us. We will discuss any problems with you immediately and work together to find a solution.
  • We guarantee NO CHANGE ORDERS unless it involves issues that were hidden prior to the start of the project. In most cases Urban Kitchen identifies potential problems and we include a reasonable budget for specific issues “just in case.”

IV. ENJOY…

The End of the Project…

  • Toward the close of the project we will provide an on-site punch list. You will have every opportunity to list any items that need attention. We will address every item.
  • We will meet with you and go over the completed work and explain our warranties. We will make sure you have the information you need – about cabinets, appliances, and all other material and fixtures installed in your home.

And, then we will thank you for the opportunity you gave us to provide you with a new kitchen!

Let’s get started, it just takes a visit to our showroom.

Quotes

Although I have not worked with Urban Kitchens on remodeling my kitchen they have been a client of mine for some time. I have seen their fantastic showroom develop and have watched them deal professionaly with their clients. As people Jo and Michael are very caring and their attention to their clients and to the details is obvious. They are more than clients they are my friends and I believe they feel the same way about their clients.
