Our Story

DESIGNING SPACES WHERE OKLAHOMANS LOVE TO GATHER SINCE 1999.

Trends come and go. We design spaces you’ll love for years to come.

Living room with large windows, a tan sectional sofa with pillows, a wooden coffee table, and a white built-in entertainment center with a TV and decorative items.

Originally founded by Jo Meacham and built on a passion for architectural design, historic preservation, and exceptional craftsmanship, Urban Kitchens earned a reputation for exceptional design combined with premier project management.

Today, Urban Kitchens is proudly led by sisters Neila Crank-Clements and Megan Crowe, who continue the committment to client-centered and collaborative design while bringing their own vision to every project.

Neila Crank-Clements

A woman with red hair, pink glasses, and floral clothing standing in a modern kitchen.

Neila has worked in the building trade for nearly 18 years. First in building new homes for low-income families, then making the transition to remodeling homes for individual owners 8 years ago. Neila loves the challenge of producing a project within the timeline and budget her clients approve.

Her creativity, matched with a preservation mindset, ensures all Urban Kitchens’ projects are comfortable and timeless.

In her free time, Neila enjoys veggie gardening, reading, and cooking.

Megan Crowe

A woman with shoulder-length wavy hair, wearing a white blouse and blue jeans, standing in a modern kitchen with wooden cabinets.

For Megan, great design starts with understanding how people move, cook, gather, and live. With 13 years of experience and NKBA certifications in floor plans, cabinetry, and color, she knows how to make every square inch work harder for you.

If you love experimenting in the kitchen or baking for a crowd, Megan will create a space that supports your passions.

Outside of design life, she’s happiest on her Norman farm surrounded by her donkey, goats, husband, and four energetic boys.

Together, they believe remodeling should feel collaborative, transparent, and deeply personal. Whether renovating a historic home, reimagining a kitchen, or transforming an entire house, they help homeowners create spaces that support everyday life for years to come.
